Every Wednesday over the summer, Appliance Center hosted its weekly “Wednesday Parking Lot Party” at the Monroe Street location in Sylvania. What started out as a modest event quickly grew to become a very popular weekly gathering. Every Wednesday this summer, neighbors enjoyed dozens of different, local food trucks, live music from area musicians, great conversation with friends, co-workers, and neighbors, and, of course, great deals from Appliance Center.
“It’s been a crazy year and we are really thankful and excited to be able to provide a fun, safe outdoor event for the community. It has grown beyond what we thought it would and has become a great way for us to continue to meet and interact with Sylvania and the surrounding communities and neighborhoods,” said John Oswald, President of Appliance Center.
The owners of Appliance Center, siblings Julie Abbey and John Oswald, love to stay active and involved in the Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan area. General Manager Ken Wanemacher said, “When you combine food, fun, family, live music, and incredible product deals into an event like this, it offers something for everyone, and with how crazy 2020 was, we decided to bring this same energy and approach to 2021.”
Since 1963, Appliance Center has always been a very popular destination for their Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana customers. 2020 brought many challenges including a national Appliance and Furniture shortage due to COVID-19 labor and supply chain restraints. Despite these industry problems, Appliance Center has a massive $7,000,000 local inventory for immediate pickup or their exclusive same-day delivery. “Our buyers have been working overtime all year to secure product. It is very possible we may be the only local home furnishing dealer with enough product to last through the end of 2020 and well into 2021,” said Julie Abbey, Co-Owner of Appliance Center.
Appliance Center will host many local food trucks and musicians throughout 2021 at their Maumee and Monroe Street locations. Appliance Center even recently hosted the Wicked Lobstah food truck, one of the most well-known food trucks in the country. The truck known for its lobster rolls drew over 1,500 people to the Maumee location parking lot.
Aside from the food trucks and entertainment, guests can anticipate Appliance Center's best deals of the year online and at their Maumee and Monroe Street locations. Visit ShopAC.com for the best deals from Appliance Center and all the Appliance Center events and promotions.
