ABW Appliances is doing our share to make sustainable choices in our day to day operations. In the past year, we have made changes in our energy choices, recycling, and the products we use. Just take a look at some of our small changes making a big impact on sustainability:
1. In 2019 we began recycling discarded cardboard. To date, we have kept over 24,160 lbs out of landfills.
2. Our corporate offices have transitioned more than 150 overhead lights from halogen to LED reducing our energy consumption and improving energy efficiency.
3. We upgraded our entire service fleet to hybrid, fuel-efficient vehicles, improving fuel efficiency for over 351,000 miles driven in 2019.
4. ABW hosts over 24 events a year, and we now use 100% recycled products for our events' flatware and plates.
5. Any and all scrapped appliances are recycled. That's over 4,000 recycled appliances in 2019!
